Sardara: a village in an island with an ancient history

Sardara is located along the main route of communication of the island, now called State Highway 131 “Carlo Felice”, which retraces the way that the ancient Romans built around the first century BC to connect the three great Sardinian cities: Cagliari, then called Karalis, Tharros, which overlooked the Gulf of Oristano and Porto Torres on the north coast.

Sardara existed more than 1600 years before Roman times and remained part of the Roman Empire until 476 A.D., as most European and African countries bordering the Mediterranean.
